Why Hasn’t Jesus Come Back Yet? (While the World Burns)
Turn on the news.
Scroll your feed.
Watch the tension rising across the Middle East.
You’ll hear it—either whispered in confusion or shouted in frustration:
“If Jesus is real… why hasn’t He stepped in?”
That’s not a shallow question.
That’s a soul-level wrestle.
Let’s answer it straight.
1. God Is Not Distant—He Already Stepped Into the Fire
Christianity doesn’t offer a distant, detached God.
It gives you Jesus—bleeding under injustice.
He didn’t avoid evil. He absorbed it.
- Corrupt power crushed Him
- Religious pride condemned Him
- Violent humanity executed Him
The cross is not God ignoring evil.
It’s God confronting it… and taking it personally.
And when He rose, He didn’t just survive evil—He broke its final authority.
God has scars. Never forget that.
2. The Delay You Feel… Is Mercy You’re Living In
We want justice now.
But let's think that through.
If Jesus returned today to judge evil, He wouldn’t just deal with terrorists, corrupt governments, or violent ideologies.
He would judge all sin.
yours and mine.
Scripture says that God is patient—not wanting anyone to perish.
- Every sunrise is mercy
- Every breath is grace
- Every delay is an invitation
You’re not waiting on God.
God is waiting on you.
3. The Chaos Is Real—But It’s Not Random
What we’re seeing globally:
- Religious violence
- Cultural confusion
- Moral compromise
This isn’t God losing control.
This is humanity exercising it.
God created real people with real choices.
And real choices come with real consequences.
Love can’t exist without freedom.
And freedom means people can choose darkness.
Jesus could shut it all down instantly.
But then faith would be by forced… and his love totally fake.
4. This Isn’t the End—It’s the Build-Up
Jesus didn’t leave us guessing.
He told us exactly what to expect:
- Wars
- Persecution
- Deception
- Lawlessness
Not as chaos—but as birth pains.
Painful. Intense. Escalating.
But leading somewhere.
The world isn’t spinning out of control.
It’s moving toward a collision with the King.
"When Jesus comes back, (not as a humble carpenter) but as a victorious King in all his Glory and Power It won’t be to negotiate with evil"
Let’s be clear.
Jesus is not coming back to manage evil.
He’s coming back to end it.
- Evil is judged
- Injustice is answered
- Death is destroyed
No more war.
No more oppression.
No more tears.
But don’t soften this:
The same return that brings peace… also brings judgment.
6. So Why Wait? Because There’s Still a Mission
The delay isn’t passive.
It’s purposeful.
Jesus hasn’t returned yet because His mission isn’t finished:
- The gospel is still going out
- The church is still being built
- People are still being rescued
That includes people in war zones.
People in corrupt systems.
People caught in deception.
And yes—even people you disagree with.
God is still saving.
7. The Tension You Feel Is Real—and It’s Meant to Wake You Up
Here’s the uncomfortable truth:
- If you demand justice now, you’re asking for judgment now
- If you want mercy, you’re asking for time
Right now, we are living in that tension.
But not forever.
Final Word: The Question Isn’t Timing—It’s Readiness
Jesus is not slow.
He’s not distracted.
He’s not indifferent.
He is patient, purposeful, and precise.
The cross proves He deals with evil completely.
The resurrection proves He wins over it decisively.
And His return will prove it publicly.
So stop asking only:
“Why hasn’t He come back yet?”
Start asking:
“Am I ready when He does?”
Because the King is not absent.
He’s coming.
